    Room six is crashing.

  2. Dr. Lin

    Six is the appendix?

  3. Nurse Okafor

    Six is the appendix with a heart rate of one-forty and falling pressure.

  4. Dr. Lin

    Get me a line and two units on standby.

  5. Nurse Okafor

    Already called. Where’s your attending?

  6. Dr. Lin

    In a surgery that started an hour ago.

  7. Nurse Okafor

    So it’s you.

  8. Dr. Lin

    It’s me.

  9. Nurse Okafor

    Then say it like it’s you.

  10. Dr. Lin

    Push fluids, page surgery, and someone tell me when that blood gets here.

  11. Nurse Okafor

    Better.

  12. Dr. Lin

    Was that better?

  13. Nurse Okafor

    Much. Now walk in there like you’ve done it a hundred times.

  14. Dr. Lin

    I’ve done it twice.

  15. Nurse Okafor

    Nobody in that room knows that but me. Go.
